Q. How long does the season run for?
The season will run for 8 weeks in total.
Q. How do I register my child or team of children to play?
Registration must be completed ONLINE ($95).
Q. How do I pay?
Registration fees can be paid online (i.e. register online & pay via internet banking) or by card over the phone.
Q. What Age Group will my child play in?
Juniors will be placed in age groups according to their age at registration. Age groups are listed below:
- Under 8’s (7 or younger at time of registration)
- Under 10’s (9 or 10 as at time of registration)
- Under 13’s (11 or 12 as at time of registration)
Players will remain in the age group assigned at registration regardless of whether they turn a different age during the season.
Players may play ‘up’ an age group where there is consent provided.
Exact age groups may vary slightly depending on total registrations.
Q. What happens after I register my child?
If you have registered your child online, you will receive confirmation via email. This confirmation email will also include the associated paperwork that you will need to fill out before your child begins playing. This paperwork can also be filled out at one of the Come & Try Days.
TRL will be in touch closer to the start date with team/program details.
Q. Can my child join/play as an Individual?
Yes! This is the standard registration practice. We will place your child into a team based on their age at time of registration.
Q. Do boys and girls play in the same competition?
Yes. TRL Juniors operates as an ‘Open’ competition.
Q. My child has a group of friends that want to play, can they play in the same team?
Absolutely. We will endeavor to get all of the children into the same team providing they are of the same/similar age. To facilitate this, each child’s parents will need to register their child individually (the easiest way to do this is online). Please then contact firstname.lastname@example.org with the names of the children who wish to be in the same team.
Q. Does my child need to wear any special gear?
No! The beauty of TRL is that children do not need any special gear (such as special shorts etc). Children are welcome to wear normal running shoes however boots will enhance traction.
Q. Are games played during School Holidays or Public Holidays?
No. Games will not be played over the School or Public Holidays.
Q. Will my child have to attend any training?
No. There is no formal training associated with TRL Juniors.
Q. Do the games count for points/ladder standings?
For the U/8s age groups, game results will not count as they are designed to be of a more non-competitive nature. Games in the U/10s, U/13s will play in a competition format during weeks 3 – 8. However, that being said, the emphasis is still on providing a fun environment for all children. We will endeavor to ensure that teams are formed with skill and ability taken into consideration to ensure games are even.
Q. What happens if there is bad weather around
The Wet Weather box in the top right hand corner of the TRL Redlands & Wynnum Website will be used to communicate all Wet Weather information.
